Every day I get stronger and fitter

Sunday I did a dance class and did some high intensity interval training (HIIT) on the reclining bike afterwards. (Maybe it was just interval training.)

Today I went for a 20 minute swim in the Mixed Pond, including doing a few strokes of front crawl. Doing front crawl in the mixed pond is doubly good because: a) I get embarassed looking rusty and b) I am scared of sharks pondlife because when I was a kid I trained myself to swim faster by imagining being chased by sharks. I still fear sharks in indoor pools, nevermind ponds with actual pondlife in it. Silly brain.

There's Duathlon training at the Hampstead Heath Lido from 11th July, I think I shall avail myself of that. 1st session free, £10 thereafter. Perfect!

I am really pleased about this:

Ran from the Mixed pond to the Men's pond via Parliament Hill, continued running up to and beyond the Ladies Pond. Win! Running up Parliament Hill I felt like I was dying, but I kept going. I did slow running, little steps, keeping myself bouncing along. I was breathing so loudly that I think I startled someone with earphones on. On the downward slope I kept my pace slow so I could get my breath back and prepare myself for the next hill. I'm so pleased that I made it all the way to the Ladies' Pond! Last time I had to stop when I was just a few yards away.

When writing this I was re-fuelling in a cafe with a cup of tea and a slice of cake :-) (Transcribed from notebook.)
